How to Clean Your Deck After a 4th of July Party

Pressure Washing Your Deck

Wood decks: 500–600 PSI maximum; hold wand 12–18 inches from surface; always go with the grain
Composite: 1200–1500 PSI maximum; 12 inches from surface
Vinyl/PVC: Up to 2000 PSI; most forgiving of the deck types
After pressure washing, let wood decks dry 48 hours before applying sealant or stain
