How to Clean a Concrete Patio After a Party

General Patio Cleanup First

Dry sweep the entire patio with a stiff push broom — remove loose food, napkins, grass, and dirt

Hold the wand 8–12 inches from the surface; sweeping motion only, don’t linger in one spot
Work in sections and rinse toward a drain or off the patio edge

Sealed vs. Unsealed Concrete: If your patio is sealed, stains are far easier to remove — just hose and scrub. If unsealed, porous concrete needs faster action and may need a commercial degreaser for grease stains that have been sitting more than 30 minutes.

How do I remove old grease stains from concrete?

Old, set-in grease requires a poultice method: mix baking soda and acetone into a paste, apply over the stain 1 inch thick, cover with plastic wrap, and tape edges.
