How to Remove Beer Stains From Carpet and Upholstery

The catch: if not cleaned properly, the yeast and sugars in beer ferment at room temperature and create a persistent sour odor. Here’s how to handle it completely.

On Carpet — Fresh Beer

Blot up as much beer as possible — press firmly with paper towels or a clean cloth
Pour a small amount of cold water over the stain, blot again
Mix: 1 tbsp dish soap + 1 tbsp white vinegar + 2 cups warm water
Apply to stain, working from outside toward center
Let sit 5–10 minutes
Blot with clean cloth until stain transfers

Let sit per product instructions, blot and rinse

On Upholstery

Blot fresh beer immediately — do not rub
Mix cold water + small amount of dish soap
